The name ossanti came from merging the last two letters of my first name & the first four of my last; carl-OS SANTI-ago.
Hi, my name is Carlos Santiago and I am a UI-UX Designer that grew up among the color, vibrancy and brightness that is Puerto Rico. I am currently based in Chicago, Illinois & for the last three years my work has revolved around digital projects ranging from User Experience, User Interface & illustrations.
I’ve had the opportunity to work for Critical Mass, Sony Music | Columbia Records, Sears Holdings, Abelson-Taylor, CAHG, Frequency 540 as well as August Jackson, just to name a few.
I graduated from Robert Morris University in 2014 with a Master’s of Management in Design and Media; a major I chose specifically to enhance my design and creative skills while also learning business management theories. The reason? One day, I will open my own design studio ;)
You can say that I was born with a pencil in hand; I come from a Fine Arts background and have been enrolled in art classes since elementary school. I attended the Escuela Especializada Central de Artes Visuales in San Juan, Puerto Rico – the only high school in Puerto Rico specializing in art; leaving the island with a major in Sculpture.
After high school I was accepted into Escuela de Artes Plasticas in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico – the only university on the island specializing in visual arts, with a staff compiled of the island’s top artists. The high cost of art supplies & classes, made me switch to interactive design, a decision that I have/will never regret.
